23 atheles from Prestige Squash Club participate in 8th Borneo Junior Open Squash Championship 2025

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 23 athletes from Prestige Squash Club, based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, proudly represented the club at the 8th Borneo Junior Open Squash Championship 2025, which was held from 15th to 20th July 2025 at the Sarawak Squash Centre, Jalan Diplomatik, Kuching, Sarawak. 

Club Secretary, Mohd Nizam Ali Hasan said that the team was under the guidance of a dedicated coaching staff comprising Headcoach Bryan Spencer Faurillo, Coach Julian Jeremiah Faurillo, and Coach Mohd Adam John Faurillo, whose tireless efforts, expert coaching, and unwavering support were instrumental throughout the championship.

“This prestigious tournament, classified as a Gold Event under the Asian Junior Super Series (AJSS), was organised in collaboration with the Asian Squash Federation (ASF). 

“It attracted top junior players from across Asia and beyond, offering a valuable platform for young talents to compete at a high-performance regional level,” he said in a statement here, today.

A total of 16 countries participated in the 8th Borneo Junior Open Squash Championship 2025, which was held from 15 to 20 July 2025 at the Sarawak Squash Centre, Kuching, Sarawak. 

The tournament saw active involvement from both regional and international nations, including Malaysia, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Macau, Pakistan, Singapore, Philippines, United States of America, as well as four countries also made their debut appearances in this championship such as Canada, New Zealand, Russia and Sri Lanka.

“This participation provided valuable exposure and experience for young athletes to compete at the regional level while enhancing their skills in an international-level tournament environment.

“Prestige Squash Club extends its highest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all parties who have provided support, cooperation, and contributions of effort and ideas in ensuring the smooth participation of the squad in the 8th Borneo Junior Open Squash Championship 2025.

“Special thanks are also extended to the parents, coaches, sponsors, and management who have consistently shown full commitment in nurturing young squash talents in Kota Kinabalu,” Mohd Nizam added.
